On our way back to the hotel for a nap and tea, Mom stopped and bought some chestnuts at a street vendor.
Back at the hotel Helen ate her leftovers from last night along with some rabbit food from the afternoon tea...
After leaving the grand bazaar we spent a fair bit of time looking for several of the places to eat that were on our itinerary. After several unsuccessful attempts to locate a place (including an unfruitful walk to the Galatea bridge for fish sandwiches off a boat) we ended up back at the Hotel to regroup. The three of us then went to what was the number one ranked restaurant on TripAdvisor (now #2 out of ~11000) for all of Istanbul. It was still in the old city and the tourist nature of the location showed. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The food was overpriced (including a mandatory tip) and while mine (note ice tea came in can) and Mom's food was good:
Helen's chicken salad was not. After sending the salad back to get better chicken, she found a hair in her new salad.
Luckily breakfast was fantastic. Look for a future update with pictures and more details on Breakfast.
